Cable Ties

Cable ties are the preferred means of cable management used in the home today. This is because they are extremely easy to use and are very cheap. A small bag of them should cost no more than three to four pounds. A small bag of cable ties will most likely last you a year, unless you are constantly rearranging the cables.
The fact that you are looking for cable ties probably means you have a mess of wires behind your home desktop computer, home theater system or any other electrical appliance that is blessed with a spaghetti jumble of wires. And as we all know, wires have an uncanny knack of tangling up. It just seems to happen over time regardless of human input. So if you're looking for the easiest cable management solution for the problem, cable ties are the number one used solution.
They come in many different sizes for various cables and are usually sold in black or white. However, there are some manufacturers that offer more "personable" colours such as pink or blue. There are three main types of cable ties. Those that are meant for a single use (Once wrapped, has to be cut to release), those that are reusable (Can unfasten) and those that utilize Velcro straps. If you had to choose, we recommend going for reusable cable ties as they make more financial sense in the long run.
The basic cable is a nylon band with an integrated gear rack. First invented in the mid 1960's by Thomas & Betts, it was designed for use in the airplane industry initially. Back then, cable ties were made out of metal, not nylon. As time passed by, cable ties went on to other industries which had to deal with a myriad of wires.
